At a very young age, Master Chen was recognized and chosen by his master to learn the ancient wisdom of Wu Dang Tai Chi, Qi Gong, meditation and healing arts at Wudang mountain. He is a 14th generation Wu Dang Zhang Sanfeng lineage holder and a 25th generation Long Men Daoist Priest.Practice in the West
In 1990, Master Chen immigrated from the People's Republic of China to the United States at the behest of his master, Master Li. He now resides at the future temple site in Estes Park, Colorado at Aspen Lodge, with his wife and three children. With his gift for making Daoist thought accessible, Master Chen has taught the Wu Dang tradition of Daoism to many thousands of students in America and many people in China. He is also a well-known Tai Chi Master with a large following in the United States.
As a Daoist teacher and Tai Chi instructor, Master Chen has been asked to share his teachings in many network television and newspaper interviews and in articles in national magazines. He has been involved with two documentaries which aired in the winter of 2006.
A true son of the Dao or "the Way", Master Chen believes most strongly that only in having an open sharing affection for human kind can he impart the great message of peace and hope that he has come to North America to deliver. His teachings are always informed by his knowledge of classical Chinese medicine and his extensive background in Chinese classical literature.
Mr. Bruewer is a 15th Generation Wudang Sanfeng Sect and 26th Generation Wudang Longmen Sect disciple under Master Yun Xiang Tseng (Chen). He is also disciple of Traditional Chinese Medicine Grandmaster Dr. Qi Jun Chen. Dr. Chen was the Chief of Staff of the Guangdong Traditional Chinese Medicine Teaching Hospital in Guangzhou, China.About Mr. Bruewer
Mr. Bruewer is the Director of the St. Louis Daoist Association. He has been immersed in Chinese culture his whole life and has a passion for the ancient teachings of Daoism and traditional healing practices in which he holds close to his heart.
Mr. Bruewer has been studying Chinese martial arts since he was 6 years old with various teachers from China and the US. He was also the gold medal champion at the 2000 USAWKF International Festival and Championships for Taiji and Kung fu.
With the blessing of Master Chen, Mr. Bruewer has had the honor of teaching Wudang Tai Chi, Qigong and Kung Fu for the St. Louis Daoist Association and hopes to grow the Daoist community in St. Louis and raise awareness of the benefits of its healing practices and philosophies.
About Mr. Tomasovich
Mr. Tomasovich has been studying Asian martial arts since 1995. He began his training with traditional Chinese Kung Fu and Yang 24 taiji, although through the years his training shifted to more combat focused arts as well.
Since 2008, Mr. Tomasovich has been a student of Tim Bruewer studying Wudang Taiji, Qigong, and Kung Fu. Since 2010, Mr. Tomasovich has also been fortunate enough to study on several occasions with Shifu Yun Xiang Tseng (Master Chen) which he considers a great honor and a turning point in his training. Mr. Tomasovich’s passion for the arts carries over into every aspect of his life and he wishes to help as many people as he can with these arts.
About Mr. Ferkel
Having no prior experience, Mr. Ferkel has been a student of Tim Bruewer since 2011, studying Wu Dang Taiji, Kung Fu, Qigong, Yang Shen, and Tuina. Mr. Ferkel has also been fortunate to have been able to attend several seminars and workshops from Shifu Yun Xiang Tseng (Master Chen) and hopes to visit the Aspen Lodge soon for more in depth training from him.
As the Assistant Director of the St. Louis Daoist Association. Mr. Ferkel helps Tim Bruewer to organize and run the SDA classes and events, track attendance, and teach classes as needed. Mr. Ferkel is passionate about growing the Daoist community and helping others with what he has learned and experienced in health and happiness.
